It's Monday, the temperature change sure feels good doesn't it. after 93 and humid for a few days.
It's funny how the little things in life sometimes turn out to be real blessings. For example, the band was not booked anywhere this weekend, and since we are usually playing outside in the summer we didn't have to set up and play in the heat. It gets hard to play when you are perspiring so much that your guitar strings are rusting as you play, (Mary perspires, I sweat) So what looked to be a lost weekend on the schedule turned out to be a blessing in disguise. You just have to look on the bright side and i try to do that as much as possible. In my mind looking at the bright side is almost as important as a sense of humor. Can't make it through without either one.
Keep on the Sunny side, always on the Sunny side, Keep on the Sunny side of life. It will help you every day, It will brighten all the way, If you keep on the Sunny Side of life- lines from an old traditional song that a lot of bluegrassers do.
This weekend the weather forecast is for perfect weather. We will be in Middlefield for our annual Community Days appearance on Friday night. The fire dept.will be having their famous fish fry upstairs in their banquet room over the fire station and we will be waiting to entertain you down below in the fire station. hope to see you there.
Saturday night we will be back in Farmington for their festival. i don't remember how many of them we have played, but my Dad has been gone about 18 years and we have pictures of him and mom there in Farmington listening to us play. Farmington always brings back a lot of memories for Mary and myself. We are glad to be back again this weekend. We will be playing from 8pm- 11pm. on Sat night. There are a lot of things going on starting Friday and continuing through the weekend so come on out and have some fun on a beautiful summer weekend, (It's almost August you know) In looking for a quote I usually try to tie it in with what's going on but this week I'm just going to throw it out there. -"You Will Come To Know That What Appears Today To Be A Sacrifice Might Prove Instead To Be The Greatest Investment You Will Ever Make" - Gorden B. Hinkley Additions to our schedule will be posted as soon as possible. We will try to have
updated schedules at our shows for all who want them. Thanks all you Classic Country Music lovers you are the reason we are out there. As always, wishing you humor, health, happiness, and MUSIC.
